Direct-Drive Motor
The AirVolution-D’s direct-drive motor eliminates the need for a gearbox, increasing sustained torque, power efficiency, and durability while decreasing noise and weight, even when compared to other gearless direct-drive motors:
- Only two moving parts; requires zero maintenance
- Zero liquids, no oils that could leak from a gearbox
- Rated for indoor and outdoor environments
Anodized Airfoils
The AirVolution-D’s NASA inspired airfoils generate more airflow over the entire speed range. They are extruded aluminum, utilizing open-ended airfoil caps to pull in air and cool the motor and electronics.
- Require less energy for optimum airflow
- Anodized finish resists dust accumulation and oxidation
- 3 blades create adequate spacing for high volume, velocity, and air delivery to the space below
Industrial-Grade Electronics
When we saw how much industrial environments love our direct drive technology, we decided to develop the toughest electronic drive solution to accommodate even the harshest industrial environments. Introducing the all-new Guardian Drive, the culmination of years of research, development, testing and design.
Developed in partnership with one of the leading controls and automation companies in the world, Schneider Electric, Guardian Drive is a truly industrial electronic drive solution, boasting industrial-grade circuit protection, flexible mounting options and built to withstand voltage fluctuations in the harshest environments. With the toughest electronics in the industry and the sleek design of the AirVolution-D fan, you get the best big fans for any type of facility.
- Industrial-grade performance and circuit protection: provides advanced controls while protecting our direct drive motors in harsh industrial environments
- Convenient lock-out mechanism: easily lock-out or tag-out with the built-in rotary disconnect switch
Year-round Energy Savings
AirVolution-D lowers air conditioning costs dramatically. A MacroAir fan running with your HVAC system can save up to 30% on cooling costs. You can also run fans in reverse in Winter to push warm air to the ground without a warm draft, saving up to 20% on your heating bill.
Lifetime Warranty
The AirVolution-D3 comes with a Lifetime Mechanical warranty and a 50,000 Hour Electrical warranty. Also, factory installation is not required, so you can self-install or use an installer of choice and get the same great warranty.
Automation-Ready
AirVolution-D can tie into Building Management Systems (BMS) using AirLynk, allowing you to control your fans from your BMS and eliminate multiple control systems. You can also use a MacroAir Controller 30 to schedule fans to run at certain times of day, and even integrate this Controller with AirEffect temperature control system to automatically run fans based upon environmental temperature or humidity.
Safety System
Safety is a top priority. The hub, which is where the fan airfoils attach, is a high stress area. MacroAir’s patented Interlocking Safety System reinforces the connection between the fan unit and its airfoils. This assures the security of the fan blades to the hub even in extreme conditions.
Multiple Control Methods
From the standard Digital Remote to the Controller 30, you can control up to 30 fans from one central location. Controller 30 can be used to schedule fans for seamless operation and tie into the optional AirEffect system to monitor environmental temperature and humidity to run fans based upon these factors.

Reverse Functionality
Most other big fan manufacturers only have forward operation, blowing air down to the floor. However, in Winter months when it is cold and heat is trapped at the ceiling, reversing fan operation moves air up to the ceiling, down the walls and to the floor. The biggest benefit? Avoid an uncomfortable warm breeze while still creating a more uniform temperature from floor to ceiling.
